Ten years ago Matt Plaskoff built a beautiful Mediterranean style home for Mike Medavoy, chairman of Phoenix Pictures. This year, Matt built a multi-million, 14,000 square foot East Coast traditional style home on 2.5 acres in Beverly Park for Mike and his wife, Irena.

“Irena was extremely involved in the project and her input was incredible,” Matt said. “She has great taste and we enjoyed working with her immensely. The Medavoys were very responsive to our needs and that helped the project move at a reasonable pace.”

The Medavoys’ four-bedroom home has a living room/screening room, a 1,000 bottle wine cellar, a large playroom, a staff suite and four kitchens, including one outside and one in the guest house. A heated veranda, a pool house, pool, and an acre of gardens and lawns all add up to a home designed for intimate or large scale entertaining.

Recently, Vanity Fair’s Golden Globes party was held in the new home as was a fundraiser for Coach for Kids, a mobile medical clinic staffed by Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Irena is executive vice chairman of the charity.

Mike Medavoy is the producer of the upcoming movies “Shanghai” and “Basic.” He has also produced “The People vs. Larry Flynn,” “The Mirror Has Two Faces,” “The Sixth Day,” and “The Thin Red Line.”

The project’s architect was Steve Bardwell of Bardwell/Case Architects; interior design was by Gregory McAllister; and landscaping was by Katherine Spitz.
