In
early 2004, Plaskoff
Construction was contacted by producers of ABC’s television
show "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition". The producers explained
the premise of the show, what was involved, and invited Matt Plaskoff
to be a part of the show’s inaugural season.
Matt Plaskoff appeared as the General Contractor for the third episode,
sixth episode, and for the special live 2-hour New York City special.
Matt considered it one of the thrills of his life to be a part of
the show and likened the experience of being on the show to being
a kid going to summer camp for the first time
“At first you go in and don't know anyone,” explained
Matt. “You're scared, and don't know what to expect. Then you
meet some people, make friends… and then your parents call and
tell you it's time to come home. That’s when you realize it’s
almost over, and you ask… Hey - when can I come back?"
Matt Plaskoff’s efforts, direction, and designs landed the show
outstanding reviews and ratings making him one of the show’s
first season “All-Star” contractors.
"I've never met a contractor who puts as much personal labor,
love and care into a project” said Tom Forman, the show's Executive
Producer. “He built us two spectacular homes in our first season,
and we can't wait to have him back in season two.”
Matt Plaskoff’s contributions to the show were so well received
that ABC and the show’s Executive Producer, Tom Foreman, invited
Matt to be the show’s lead Construction Consultant for the second
season.
The following pages are dedicated to the show, the designers, the
families, and all of the vendors and sponsors that make the show possible.
