Energy Saving Tips
Here's how to reduce your electric bill during the summer months:
Don't leave on lights in an unused room.
- Try to use natural lighting whenever possible.
- Set your thermostat to 78°F when you are home and off when you are away.
- Operate your pool filter and sweeper before noon or after 7 p.m. Also, reduce the time they operate.
- When you do laundry, try to use the warm- or cold-water setting.
- For the rinse cycle, use cold water.
- Run full loads if you use the clothes dryer.
- Be sure to clean the lint trap after each use.
- Dry your clothes on a line rather than using the dryer.
- Only use the dishwasher when it is fully loaded.
- Turn off the dry cycle and air-dry dishes.
- Use major appliances before noon or after 7 p.m. to help prevent power outtages.
